Safeguarding children

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Our promise

The safety and dignity of every child comes before everything else. This page applies to every lesson with a child. Where the law of your country asks for more than this page, we follow the stricter rule.

A parent is always close by

During a child’s lesson, a parent or guardian (or another adult they trust) should be in the same room, or nearby and within earshot, and able to see the screen at any time. A parent or guardian attends the free intro call. For younger children and beginners we encourage you to sit with them. If no adult is nearby, we may pause the lesson until one is.

No private contact with children

We never contact a child directly. All messages about a child go to the parent or guardian, by email or to the WhatsApp number a parent gives us. We do not message children privately, accept their friend or follow requests, or use any private channel with them. If a child writes to us, we reply to the parent. We never give or ask for gifts, photos or personal details beyond a first name and age, never ask a child to keep a secret from their parents, and never meet a child in person.

How lessons are held

Lessons take place only on the video link we send to the parent. Please keep the link private. Children should join from a shared room of the home, not behind a closed bedroom door. The tutor joins from a suitable place and keeps lessons to teaching.

How we teach

We teach with patience and encouragement. We do not shout, shame, threaten, punish physically or emotionally, or pressure a child. Conversation stays on the lesson.

No recording without permission

We do not record lessons. A recording is made only with the parent’s or guardian’s written agreement beforehand, for a stated purpose, is kept privately, and is never shared or published. See Terms for details.

Your child’s data

We keep only a first name and age, delete them on a schedule, and never use them for advertising. See Privacy.

Raising a concern

If anything about a lesson or about us worries you or your child, tell us straight away using the Contact page and write “Safeguarding concern” in your message. We respond within one day (Cairo time). You do not have to wait for our answer: you may also contact the child-protection services or police in your country, and in an emergency call your local emergency number. As we are a one-person service, we will cooperate fully with any authority.

What we do when we hear a concern

We take every concern seriously, listen without blame, and do not punish anyone for raising one. If it is about a lesson or about us, we stop contact with the child at once while we look into it, keep a confidential written record of the facts, and tell the parent what we find. If a child tells us something that suggests they may be at risk, we stay calm, do not promise secrecy, do not question the child ourselves beyond what we need to understand, tell the parent unless that could put the child at greater risk, and report it to the child-protection authority or police where the child lives, where we can find out where that is. We keep such records safely and only as long as necessary.

Reviewing this page

We review this page every year and after any concern, and we will tell you if it changes in a way that matters to you.
